Women's T&F Take home NJCAA Reg 12 Championship
Jayhawks pull away from Tri-C to secure regional championship
Region 12 Championships
On January 25 the NJCAA Region 12 championships were held at Hillsdale College as an internal event to the 2025 Hillsdale Wide track classic.
16 women's programs competed ranging from NJCAA Div 1 to NCAA Div 2 programs.
In the women's scored events the Muskegon Community college Jayhawks took home the championship title! On the ladies side it was a battle until the final 3 of the 15 scored events when eventually the Jayhawks tallied 25 pts in the final 3 events to pull away from Cuyahoga Community College (Ohio). The lady Jayhawks ended up beating Tri-C by 7pts to take home the Championship.
Coach Marcinkowski was named Region 12 Women's Coach of the Year.
The Jayhawks combined for 14 individual and relay event champions to help pace both programs to the titles.
"With sickness heavy on the ladies side we knew it would be a battle with sprint dominate Tri-C. Knowing this we stacked the 800 and the 200s with majority of our girls mid distance and sprint squad. The final race was the 4x400 which we got out to a commanding lead and just held until the line. I was proud of the girls team for pulling this one together."
- Nick Marcinkowski Head Women's Track and Field Coach
