"This was a total team effort," said Coach Carpenter. "Beating programs like Harper and Southwestern Michigan requires every guy on the mat to fight for every point. Mack and Streeter coming back from disappointing losses to take third was huge. I couldn't be prouder of their grit and the way they represented Muskegon Jayhawk Wrestling."
Carpenter continued, "There were a TON of alumni here today, and I think they were all proud to be Jayhawks!"
With this victory, the Jayhawks have solidified their position as a national contender, previously just outside the top 15 in Team Tournament rankings and #8 in Team Dual rankings (The Open Mat), as they prepare for the NJCAA National Championship.
