Guerrero, Cage, and Johnson all capture Jayhawk Open Championships
GUERRERO, CAGE & JOHNSON ALL WIN JAYHAWK OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR MUSKEGON JAYHAWK WRESTERS
Muskegon Community College – Muskegon, MI – Jayhawk Open – February 2nd, 2025
Muskegon Community College concluded its regular season with 12 wrestlers placing in the top 4 of their weight classes and 3 champions in 125 pounder Jack Guerrero, who continues to dominate the competition with all 4 of his matches ending in a 1st period fall. Anthony Cage and Garry Johnson III were also impressive, bringing home the gold. Runner-up finishes were turned in by Joe Perez at 133, Connor Babel at 141, Jacob Gillison at 149 and Harrison Meekhof at 174. Finishing in third place were Jimmy Thommen at 125, Brayden Cunningham at 141 and Trevor Streeter at 174. 4th place finishes were had by Zeke Thompson at 184 and Eli Marshall at 285. "This tournament is a nice tune-up for us as we head into the post-season. I'm proud of the team and the performance they all put in today," exclaimed Coach Carpenter.
