Jack Guerrero Leads MCC at Alma Open

Alma College – Alma, MI – Alma College Open – January 19, 2025

Jack Guerrero led the Jayhawks today with a dominating performance at 125 pounds, scoring a tech fall in the quarters, 18-0, a fall in the semis in 24 seconds, and a 16-0 finals win over rival Jacob Cambell of Henry Ford College. Other Jayhawks turning in strong performances were 133 pounders Anthony Cage and Joe Perez, who were 2^nd and 3^rd respectively, 141 pounder Kyron Zoet, who finished 2^nd, 165 pounder Garry Johnson III who finished 5^th, 174 pounders, Trevor Streeter and Harrison Meekhof, who were 4^th and 6^th respectively and 197 pounder, Andrew Baldwin who finished 3^rd. "We like this tournament as both a preparation for our post-season and a chance for us to show our talent to 4-year colleges looking to recruit from us." said Coach Cody Carpenter.  "We wrestled extremely well, and in matches we lost, we showed a lot of grit."  Muskegon Community College Wrestling will next compete at the Harper Open on Saturday, January 25th.
