Bay College Over MCC 93-68
February 14, 2026
Muskegon couldn't keep pace on the road Saturday, falling 93–68 to Bay College in a game where the Norse controlled the tempo, the glass, and the three‑point line from start to finish. Bay opened the afternoon with a 47–33 first‑half lead, using hot perimeter shooting and a 50–37 rebounding advantage to create separation. Muskegon had stretches of good offense, but every push was met with a Bay run, and the Jayhawks were never able to string together enough stops to close the gap.
Darryl Thompkins led Muskegon with 14 points and five rebounds while playing nearly the entire game. Lamarkis Graham added 18 points on six made threes, giving the Jayhawks their most consistent perimeter threat of the afternoon. Ny'Zhem Marshall finished with 13 points and eight rebounds, providing interior scoring and activity on both ends. David Cross chipped in nine points and four rebounds, and Joel Katembo added four points and two boards. Off the bench, Jamarion Taylor scored six points, and Landyn Smith added four. Kenyae Foley grabbed five rebounds in 14 minutes.
Muskegon shot 37.5 percent from the field and 30.8 percent from three, while Bay hit 15 threes and shot over 50 percent overall. Turnovers also hurt the Jayhawks, who gave the ball away 12 times, leading to transition opportunities that Bay converted into momentum‑swinging baskets. The loss drops Muskegon to 10–14 on the season and 4-7 in Northern Conference play. The Jayhawks hope to keep their playoff hopes alive next Wednesday, February 18th in a conference clash against the Mid Michigan College Lakers in Mount Pleasant. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
