February 4, 2026
The Muskegon Community College Jayhawks fell to the Delta College Ducks on the road Wednesday night, 73–64, in conference play. The first half was a competitive, back‑and‑forth battle, with both teams grinding through long possessions and tough defensive stretches. MCC trailed just 33–29 at the break, powered by strong rebounding from sophomore forward Ny'Zhem Marshall and ten first half points from Freshman David Cross.
In the second half, both teams continued to trade baskets, but Delta found timely scoring runs and controlled the glass late, outscoring MCC 40–35 after halftime to secure the win. David Cross led the Jayhawks with 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including three makes from beyond the arc. Marshall delivered a dominant double‑double performance with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman guard Darryl Thompkins added 12 points and seven assists, while sophomore forward Jamarion Taylor contributed nine points and seven rebounds. Landyn Smith provided a spark off the bench with nine points on efficient shooting.
The Jayhawks will return to conference action next Wednesday (2/7) as they host the Alpena Lumberjacks at the Health and Wellness Center (Muskegon Campus). Tip‑off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
